Volunteer Spotlight: Thi Le
In the weeks leading up to Website Weekend LA 2016, we’ll be shining the spotlight on some of the volunteers who will be donating their time and talent during the event to help build websites for local nonprofit organizations that are doing good in the community. Today, we meet Thi Le!
What’s your day job?
I am a Web Designer and Front-end Developer at InMotion Hosting in Los Angeles, CA.
How will you be using your experience to help during Website Weekend?
Most of my day-to-day responsibilities are to brainstorm, design and develop landing pages, banner ads, prints, etc. We analyze the user experience and interaction on our current websites in order to improve a better flow and experience for our users. These skills come in handy to help out during the Website Weekend.
What was your favorite project that you ever worked on?
One of my favorite projects was our BoldGrid, a free and intuitive WordPress website builder, landing page redesign. We got to do A/B testing and talked to the actual users to determine if our design worked better compared to the old one. It was a really fun learning experience.
Why are you excited about Website Weekend?
I will get to meet other like-minded designers and developers. We are eager to make a difference in our community by utilizing our skills and talents.
What’s your favorite book, movie or tv show?
My favorite book is The Green Mile by Stephen King.
What’s your favorite color?
Technically, it’s not a color, but I love black. It makes everything around it stand out.
