Volunteer Spotlight: Jennifer Sanne
In the weeks leading up to Website Weekend LA 2016, we’ll be shining the spotlight on some of the volunteers who will be donating their time and talent during the event to help build websites for local nonprofit organizations that are doing good in the community. Today, we meet Jennifer Sanne!
What’s your day job?
I am a web designer and content administrator for the Ellen DeGeneres Show’s website.
How will you be using your experience to help during Website Weekend?
This is an opportunity to utilize my design and coding skills. I previously worked at a non-profit as the lead designer. I’m hoping to bring my understanding of how non-profits operate: driven by a mission and usually with limited resources. I hope to contribute my experience in problem solving to achieve the client’s objectives and really deliver a website solution that will last.
What was your favorite project that you ever worked on?
A favorite project of mine was a website redesign for LA based composer John Guth. johnguth.com This site was built on WordPress and is responsive. It showcases his library of music with sorting functionality to seamlessly facilitate the browsing of all his work. It was a freelance project that I learned a lot from
Why are you excited about Website Weekend?
I can’t wait to meet and work with other designers and developers in the LA community. I’m excited to learn from this fast-paced challenge. It will be so rewarding to collaborate with the other participants to build a website for a deserving non-profit.
What’s your favorite book, movie or tv show?
My favorite TV shows are How I Met Your Mother and HGTV shows, like Design Star. I love movies. A few favorites are Moulin Rouge, Stories We Tell, Good Will Hunting, and L’Auberge Espagnole. Favorite documentary is Long Way Round.
